Luas is a multi-format media opportunity with year-on-year increasing passenger numbers; 48 million passenger journeys were taken in 2019. There are a variety of formats that brands can use to capture the attention of Luas commuters inside and outside the trams and on the platforms at Luas stops. The first of eight brand- new Luas 55m trams are now in operation. Seven more 55m trams will be delivered in the coming months and all will be in passenger service by early 2021. Each of these new trams will carry approximately 100 more passengers than the existing 44m trams.
The extension of the green line in late 2017 brought additional passenger journeys and greater connectivity in the city, providing links to colleges, theatres, libraries, sports grounds, shopping areas and main transport hubs; resulting in even more meaningful connections for brands via Luas advertising opportunities.
