JCDecaux Global

In 1964, Jean-Claude Decaux invented the concept of street furniture and devised the idea of funding public services through advertising. From a single bus shelter contract for the city of Lyon in France, JCDecaux has grown to be the world number one Out of Home advertising company. For over 50 years we have continued to deliver quality and innovative street furniture and outdoor advertising solutions. Our displays are visible on roadside, in retail locations and on transport networks in over 4,000 cities around the world. Everyday JCDecaux reaches more than 410 million people on the planet.

JCDecaux Ireland

JCDecaux entered the Irish outdoor advertising market in 1999 with the purchase of David Allen, which had a significant portfolio of quality billboards nationwide. The acquisition of David Allen firmly established JCDecaux in the Irish market when we rebranded in 2001.

In 2004 JCDecaux was awarded the first Luas advertising contract, which has since been renewed with TII. Another first for JCDecaux occurred when Dublin City Council appointed us to provide amenities for the city, including the highly acclaimed NOW dublinbikes which launched in 2009, in return for advertising displays. In 2011, NITHC appointed JCDecaux to manage advertising across their rail portfolio. JCDecaux also operate a number of shopping centre contracts and have developed a digital retail network in these locations. In 2017 JCDecaux were awarded the first national bus shelter advertising contract in the Republic of Ireland following a competitive tender process, to manage the advertising rights and maintenance related to over 1,800 existing bus shelters around the country. JCDecaux's digital roadside portfolio in Dublin City includes Digipoles - large format roadside screens; Digipanels - high profile city centre on-street digital units and Digishelters - a network of upgraded NTA bus shelters on key routes in and out of the city.
