JCDecaux win All Ireland Marketing Award
for launch of Metro Formats

JCDecaux is delighted to have won a prestigious All Ireland Marketing Award in the New Product/New Market category for the launch of Metro Formats to the Irish Market in 2008.

The unique “Beautiful Faces” launch campaign for the Metro Formats, a targeted business to business campaign aimed directly at the planners and buyers of media in the Irish Marketplace, was selected from a shortlist of finalists that included O2 and Coca Cola.

As part of a presentation to announce the arrival of the new formats to Dublin, media planners and buyers in every agency had their photograph taken with a promise to make them famous. Over one weekend in Aug ‘08 all of the new Metropole and Metropanel units were fully installed and switched on. The landscape of Outdoor advertising in Dublin changed overnight, and each planner/buyer had their very own poster displayed on the new sites.

Since the launch of Metro Formats last September:

  •  9 of the top 10 Outdoor advertisers have used Metro Formats
  • 85% of clients who have used Metro Formats who have been active in the marketplace again have repeat-purchased

Metro Formats are backlit scrolling panels, positioned head on to traffic throughout Dublin City, they are a mix of 6 sheet Metropanels and 8sq metre Metropoles.

  • Metropoles deliver 42% more contacts than an average Dublin 48 sheet
  • Metropanels deliver 42% more contacts than an average Dublin 6 sheet
