Luas audience

Luas runs through the heart of Dublin’s business, financial, retail, residential and entertainment locations with over 27 million passenger journeys to and from these destinations every year.

In contrast to other commuter services in Dublin in 2010, daily boardings on Luas increased by 15% (2009 to 2010) as more and more commuters make it their primary form of transport to and from work, college and social events.

Luas is an essential part of the transit media mix in Dublin.

273,000 adults have seen ads on Luas in the past week

  • Regular Luas commuters are predominantly young, 44% are aged between 15-34
  • A significant share, 24%, are aged 65+
  • 40% are tempted to buy products they have seen advertised
