JNOR
At JCDecaux, JNOR is really important to us. Why? Because JNOR can tell you exactly how many people will see your campaign and that is what Outdoor is all about. Audience. Eyeballs.
JCDecaux. Eyeball delivery experts.
We have worked in conjunction with the OMA and Outdoor specialists to create JNOR, the Joint National Outdoor Research, one of the most comprehensive research undertakings in Irish media. JNOR is the only independent, official measurement of Outdoor campaigns in the Irish market. You can download a JCDecaux factsheet on the full JNOR methodology below. This includes information on how we researched Irish adults and their movements, panel classifications and data gathering.
Briefly, the research takes the full traffic count/flow for an Outdoor panel and reduces it to an OTS (Opportunity To See). For example, a 48 sheet panel can either be head-on to traffic, parallel or diagonal. If it’s head-on, the OTS will be 100% of the traffic flow facing the board. A series of formulae and equations further calculate how many of those people are likely to see the panel when passing which gives you a VAC (Visibility Adjusted Contact). The visibility calculations take into account factors such as size, viewing distance, distance from the kerb, illumination, obstruction etc to tell us how many contacts each panel will get.
