JCD Global
Profile
History
In 1964, Jean-Claude Decaux invented the concept of financing the provision of high quality bus shelters by incorporating advertising panels into their design. The streets of Paris saw a revolution in outdoor advertising and commuters experienced a whole new dimension to their city, JCDecaux street furniture. We have expanded our product and service range over the past 40 years with the aid of our own dedicated research and development team, to become the world leader in street furniture and signage.
Today, our street furniture, transit and shopping centre advertising can be seen in over 3,400 major cities around the world. Every day over 276 million people see JCDecaux advertising panels. We have the greatest advertising exposure across five world regions - Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia.
Vision
The Decaux family vision is to be the world leader in outdoor advertising
services by offering quality solutions that go beyond traditional
formats. Inspired by this vision, the JCDecaux group expanded into
other countries and became the world's number one provider of street
furniture. In 1999 we diversified our operations into other out of
home media, through the acquisition of the Havas Group of companies
from Vivendi. This expansion saw our business almost double.
