JCDecaux Innovate consistently aims to push creative boundaries when it comes to out of home media.  Advertisers really made use of the creative possibilities bus shelters have to offer this September with three different bus shelter specials on display over the period.  TGI shows that 1.3 million Irish consumers have seen advertising at a bus stop in the past week, so enhancing visibility and engagement levels with JCDecaux Bus Shelter innovations makes perfect sense.

Nature Valley – Cycle 18

The Innovate element of this campaign featured two dispenser specials in the prime Dublin city centre locations of Georges Street and Rathmines.  The creative for this campaign prompted members of the public to push a red button to get a free Nature Valley Protein peanut and chocolate bar.  We know that 37% of commuters buy products on impulse and given the close proximity of Bus Shelters to retail points in the city this was a clever choice of format.

This campaign also ran on Digital iVisions, retail 6 sheets and incorporated a Luas Tram Domination in cycle 18. The campaign was booked by MEC Global via Kinetic. The creative was by TPI.

King Crisps – Cycle 18

King Crisps caught the attention of commuters and passers by on Upper Baggot Street with this simple yet effective filled shelter displaying real King Crisps.  Given 51% of commuters often snack in between meals this innovation by King crisps was bound to have made tummies rumble whilst en-route!

The King Crisps campaign was booked by Vizeum via Source OOH.  The creative was inhouse by Largo Foods.

Dublin Bus – Cycle 19

Dublin Bus cleverly used a combination of social media activity and a busy bus shelter location to add a special element to their “Dublin Legends” campaign which is currently running this cycle.  Commuters are prompted to tweet #DBSTORYBOOK and the shelter, located on Dublin 4’s busy Pembroke Road, then dispenses a free story booklet which celebrates 30 years of Dublin Bus stories.

The Dublin Bus campaign was booked by Carat via PML.  The creative was inhouse by Rothco.
