Republic of Ireland: According to the OMA figures, September sees the biggest investment in Outdoor ytd. €15.6 million was spent on Outdoor in September. Year-to-date €100 million has been spent on Outdoor and the top ten listed above account for almost €1 in every €3 spent.

Northern Ireland: The OMA figures show Northern Ireland recorded the second highest monthly Outdoor spend in September; £3.1 million (compared to March which ytd has the highest monthly spend of £3.5 million). Year-to-date £20 million has been spent on Outdoor, the top 10 listed above account for 26% of this spend.

 

Landscape Posters: Creative Design under the Microscope     
Examining the visual processing of landscape format posters 

JCDecaux WorldLink, in conjunction with JCDecaux Spain, has carried out research into the creative design of landscape format posters. This follows research that was carried out in the UK in conjunction with Unilever on small format posters.

The objective of the study was to provide intelligence that would help improve the creative design in terms of its efficiency in delivering an advertiser’s campaign objectives, whether the objectives be brand recall, message take-out, brand building, brand association etc.

Key Intelligence taken from the research includes:

  • Left is primary position for product shots or key visuals
  • Product Shot aids recall
  • Bottom more attractive than top for logo and headline placement on landscape formats
